What happens when you apply for a loan?
You gather the documents. You fill out the forms. You submit your information.
And then… you wait.
But there’s a part of the process borrowers rarely get to see:
What happens after you hit submit? Because a lender isn’t simply looking at whether you’ve provided the documents they requested. They’re trying to understand something bigger.
Can this person or business responsibly take on this credit? And to answer that, the documents are only part of the story. The borrower sees the application. The lender sees the pattern.
In the first half of 2026, EazyCredit disbursed ₦452.4 million across 64 credit facilities.
Those facilities didn’t all look the same. Business loans made up the largest share of the value disbursed, alongside personal loans, salary and staff loans, and LPO facilities. Different borrowers. Different needs. Different financial circumstances.
Which raises a more interesting question: When you’re assessing whether someone qualifies for credit, what exactly are you looking at?
Now the data has a job. It’s not “here are our numbers.” It’s evidence for the question we’re exploring. And this is where most borrowers don’t have the full picture.
You may think your application is:
Documents → Submit → Decision
But the lender is trying to understand the financial story behind those documents.
What does your cash flow look like? How do you manage your existing commitments? What does your financial activity suggest about how you handle credit?
Not because there is one magic behaviour that guarantees approval. Not because every lender assesses applications in exactly the same way.
But because credit decisions are about understanding risk, capacity and context, not simply checking whether you’ve attached the right files.
So what does your financial behaviour actually tell a lender? That’s exactly what we’re going to unpack.
For our first EazyCredit webinar, we’re taking you behind the credit decision:
HOW LENDERS DECIDE IF YOU QUALIFY
Why Your Money Habits Matter More Than Your Documents
We’ll look at what lenders are actually assessing when they review a credit application, what your financial behaviour can reveal, and why the things you do with your money today can matter when you need credit tomorrow.
